Always examine the HEPA grade before purchasing an air purifier


HEPA is the name of an air filter that has a higher resolution than normal air filters. Used for capturing particles smaller than 0.3 microns, which of course includes PM2.5 which is 2.5 microns in size.


HEPA filters come in many grades, from H10 to H14, which will have a higher resolution accordingly. It is very important to check the grade of HEPA, otherwise, you may invest in an air purifier that is not suitable for its purpose.

The efficiency of capturing particles smaller than 0.3 microns of HEPA is divided into:

  • H12 : 99.5% efficiency, 0.5% chance of particles passing through.

  • H13 : 99.95% efficiency, 0.05% chance of particles passing through.

  • H14 : 99.995% efficiency, 0.005% chance of particles passing through.
